The PEPR Bioproductions at the 2026 International Agricultural Show

On Wednesday, 25 February 2026, during the International Agricultural Show, the PEPR Bioproductions programme held a conference on the INRAE stand to present the programme's initial scientific results.

The challenge facing industrial biotechnology in Europe is not limited to scientific excellence. It also lies in the ability to ensure effective continuity between research, technological development and industrialisation. Transforming laboratory results into viable, competitive and sustainable bioproductions remains a key challenge for European competitiveness and ecological transition.

INRAE, co-leader of the Bioproductions Priority Research Programme and Equipment (PEPR), has announced the appointment of Michael O'Donohue as co-director of the programme. He succeeds Monique Axelos, whom we sincerely thank for her dedication and key role in structuring the programme.

On 18 November, the research axis dedicated to cross-disciplinary methodologies and tools within the PEPR Bioproductions programme organised a day of discussions in Paris on the methods, models and platforms that are currently transforming biotechnology. Several projects presented the tools they use or are developing as part of the programme, with the aim of identifying those that could be used by other projects.
