Call for projects / Call for expression of interest

The Bioproductions (B-BEST) program is the research component of the national acceleration strategy "Bio-based Products, Industrial Biotechnologies – Sustainable Fuels." This program is dedicated to research efforts at a low level of technological maturity (TRL between 1 and 4).

To achieve this, the Bioproductions program also needs to strengthen interdisciplinary, multi-environmental, and multi-stakeholder dialogues through various modalities. In addition to the multi-partner targeted projects that have already begun, several types of projects and actions are being implemented within the program, including:

• A two-wave call for projects, broadly open to the scientific community in the first four thematic areas of the program. This call aims to complement or introduce new approaches to the targeted projects. The first wave of the call, closed in April 2024, aims to support large-scale projects lasting between 3 and 5 years, with approximately 26M€allocated for the first wave, while the total budget for the two waves is 39M€
• Two calls for expression of interest for the Human and Social Sciences, Bioeconomics axis, which aim to better identify and help structure a French research community in the field of human and social sciences applied to the program's thematic interests. The total budget for the AMI, closed in April 2024, is 1.68M€.
• A call for international mobility projects from or to France. This call, which will be open every year from 2024 onwards, is aimed in particular at PhD students, post-docs and those just starting out in their careers. The duration of the mobility must be between 3 weeks and 3 months, with funding ranging from €1K to €6K.
