Call for expression of interest for HSS projects

The winning projects from this call for expression of interest will constitute the fifth scientific axis of the program: "Understanding the transition processes related to the bioeconomy and their governance." The successful projects will need to study the bioeconomy through its human, social, and philosophical dimensions, as well as its economic, political, and regulatory aspects.

• the human, social and philosophical dimension of the bioeconomy, with the aim of increasing our knowledge of the social representations and values it embodies, as well as the organisational configurations and innovation dynamics associated with its development, at different scales and in different contexts. Projects could also explore the stakeholders, political debates and social mobilisations that strengthen or weaken the social legitimacy of the bioeconomy, as well as that of the associated technologies and the extent to which they will be used;
• the various economic, political, environmental and regulatory dimensions of the bioeconomy, with particular emphasis on strategies that encourage the co-production of environmental and social benefits, especially at local level. The technical dimension may also be addressed, particularly from the perspective of the legitimacy of advanced technologies as responses to society's needs and expectations.
