The goal of this project is to design a system for real-time bioprocess monitoring through time-series, combining Machine Learning algorithms with physical knowledge on microbial dynamics, thus reuniting the process (macroscopic) scale with the microbial (microscopic) scale. This real-time monitoring system will be designed in several phases, among which the major task of developing hybrid models that combine Machine Learning with microbial mechanistic information is envisioned to happen within a research visit to BioRetroSynth-MICALIS (Prof. Jean-Loup Faulon’s team) through the funds provided by the PEPR-BBEST 2025 call.
