Training on the bioeconomy for young PEPR researchers

From September 1 to 3, doctoral and postdoctoral students from the Bioproductions program gathered at the IFP School for an intensive training session dedicated to biofuels and the bioeconomy.

This highlight illustrates the Bioproductions research program's commitment to training a new generation of researchers in biotechnology and biomass processing.

Over three days, the young researchers followed a comprehensive course covering the entire value chain:

  • Market overview and current challenges
  • Overview of biomass sectors and resources
  • Environmental impacts: CO₂ emissions reduction, life cycle analysis, land use changes
  • Regulations and economic aspects
  • The place of biofuels in future energy mixes
  • Biomass conversion processes and bioproducts

This training course is designed to enable our young researchers to understand the entire value chain relating to biofuel production, to better grasp the concept of the bioeconomy, and to understand the scientific, technological, and societal challenges that are shaping the future of the energy transition.
