The PEPR Bioproductions at the 2026 International Agricultural Show

On Wednesday, 25 February 2026, during the International Agricultural Show, the PEPR Bioproductions programme held a conference on the INRAE stand to present the programme's initial scientific results.

The conference highlighted several priorities of the programme:

  • Biomass is a strategic resource, provided that it is better understood and characterised through a combination of chemistry and advanced imaging tools.
  • The optimisation of resources and processes relies on the development of high-performance scientific and digital tools.
  • Genomic engineering and the study of microbial communities are essential for designing more efficient bioproduction systems.
  • Understanding the interactions between yeasts and contaminants is crucial for optimising the production of second-generation bioethanol.

The programme management also reiterated that the PEPR Bioproductions programme is part of a broader national strategy aimed at positioning France as a European leader in biotechnology and the bioeconomy, in conjunction with the European biotechnology research infrastructure IBISBA.

Thank you to everyone who came to talk with us!
