LignoBiotech 2024

The use of renewable carbon sources is a central goal of the energy and ecological transition. Lignocellulose, as the second most abundant source of renewable carbon, is the most promising raw material.

The LignoBiotech symposium is a key event for the scientific community involved in lignocellulosic biomass valorization. It has enabled a wide range of expertise to be shared during the various sessions organized around the world over the past 14 years.

In 2024, LignoBiotech will take place in France, in Toulouse, a major university city renowned for its research in biotechnology and bioeconomy. It is co-organised by the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Toulouse (INSA) and Toulouse Biotechnology Institute (TBI), represented by Claire Dumon, who is also coordinator of the Nanomachines project in the B-BEST programme.

• Advances and cutting-edge technologies for enzyme discovery and engineering
• Circular bioeconomy: valorizing all lignocellulose fractions
• Bioconversion using single strains, co-cultures or synthetic microbial consortia
• Sustainable processes : LCA for lignocellulose bioconversion
